Walleye keyboard language setting broken?

Reported by: david Owned by: rmcmillen
Priority: major Milestone: roo-1.4
Component: Walleye Version: 1.4b3
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Walleye shows my keyboard language setting as "United Kingdon" Shell env shows "LANG=en_us.UTF-8" (shouldn't it be UK?)

Changing the keyboard language setting in Walleye to Japanese or Russia returns a success message but starting a new shell still shows the same settings. Returning to Walleye show the current setting still at United Kingdon, not the setting that was previously selected.

ChangeSet? [59] addresses a portion of this issue. It ensures the current keyboard layout is the one selected in the drop down for the OS Administration -> Configure Keyboard Layout walleye UI menu.

There are two sides to this issue: keyboard layout and locale. The UI configures the keyboard layout. We do not have an interface to address the locale which is the purpose of the LANG environment variable.

  • resolution set to fixed

ChangeSet? [30] both fixes the /etc/sysconfig/keyboard file and manually loads the layout.

Should be ChangeSet? [64] not [30].
